Rema left his fans waiting for 30 minutes for his Coachella performance.
The singer was expected to perform for 45 minutes on the Mojave stage from 6:40 pm PT on April 13. However, after his set started, fans only saw the DJ on the stage with Rema nowhere to be seen.
An X user, @OsoFresh138, on X wrote,
"The Rema set at Coachella is a disaster. 20 mins in and Rema Is nowhere to be found. The DJ has been hyping the crowd while the band just stares at each other. It's the DJ's set at this point."
The user added an update after a while on the tweet by writing,
"Eyyyy Rema showed up 30 mins late for a 45 min set."
Another frustrated fan wrote,
"At this point Rema's DJ need to add his name to the setlist... he's the one playing coachella... not Rema 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭"
As per reports, the singer arrived around 7:10 pm PT, which left him with 15 minutes of the performance. The singer performed a few songs, including Bout U and Calm Down, that cheered the audience.
However, a few fans also suspected the singer to be lip-syncing to his own songs. While the singer played a little more after his time was up, he ended his set suddenly, leaving fans puzzled.
Rema's past concert mishaps
While fans are quite disappointed with Rema's late-stage appearance at Coachella, this isn’t the first time the singer has faced criticism for his live performances.
Rema appeared two hours late on his 2023 Atlanta show, which brought him negative feedback from the fans. The singer then left the stage after singing a couple of songs and blaming the organization for the poor arrangement.
The singer apologized on his Instagram account and assured them that he would reschedule the show. He also revealed that he arrived at the set on time but couldn't get on the stage due to technical issues.
A similar incident occurred at the 2024 Dreamville Fest, where Rema left the stage due to sound quality issues, leaving many fans disappointed. While some supported him, agreeing that the audio was poor, others criticized him for walking out mid-performance.
As for the 2025 Coachella concert, fans had hoped that the 22-year-old would bring out Selena Gomez for their Calm Down song. However, the surprise never came, adding to the overall letdown of the performance.
Rema is a Nigerian singer and rapper, popular for his songs Calm Down, Dumebi, and Charm. As of now, the singer hasn’t addressed the reason behind his delay at the Coachella stage yet.
