Lil Baby released his new album WHAM in 2025
While Lil Baby has not released The Leaks album, he did release a new album earlier in the year. WHAM is his fourth studio album, and was released on January 3, 2025.
The album featured guest appearances by Future, GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Rod Wave, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage, as well as Young Thug. The album was produced by Frankie Bash, London on da Track, Southside, among others.
The singer talked about his album in an exclusive interview with Complex on January 15, 2025, and stated:
"I started working on this music in September of 2023. I had just got off tour and I told myself, “I'm about to lock in and take it there.” I recorded half [of the album] in Miami, [and the other] half in Atlanta."
The singer later added that he is about to release two projects simultaneously. Talking about the projects, he said,
"WHAM is more like my young n*gga street sh*t. Then I show the transition I'm taking in Dominique, the more emotional and more vulnerable side I never really gave my fans."
The singer added that in WHAM, he is trying to put out the message to other people to stop messing with him.
Lil Baby later talked about his creative process for the album:
"I definitely experimented with my sounds and flows because, at first, I never thought to even try to change my flow or change my sound. This time, I actually put thought into it. I actually went back this time and redid stuff and tightened stuff up—versus in the past, whatever I recorded, that's how I left it. I just mixed it and that was the end. "
WHAM was a major success, with the album going on to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. The album has also been very successful on the streaming services, with it getting millions of streams on release day itself.
