Shallipopi released his latest studio album, Shakespopi, back in April 2024. The singer talked about the album and other aspects of his career in a May 21, 2024, exclusive interview with GQ Africa. The singer answered about how he felt regarding the mixed reception to the album, stating:

"Releasing a project is different for me. All the songs on each project are based on how I feel when I hit the studio, expressing different sounds. When I drop a project I’m always online. I see the hate, the love; I see everything. I don’t really get angry or sad and ask why someone hates my work."

The singer continued:

"I feel like if it’s not meant for you, it’s not meant for you! Anyone who fits into my mood understands. For instance, you have to be in a club setting to like a song like ‘High Tension’ or ‘ASAP.’ Every song is peculiar so you have to be in a certain mood to be able to relate to the song. I was just in different moods on that album."

He later talked about the sound and feel of his music, agreeing with the interviewer that he made 'mood music':

"Exactly! I make songs based on my mood. When you look closely, that’s what blew me up because I make songs that make people want to have a good time; like party songs."

The singer continued:

"So me trying different sounds now is a bit confusing for some people, asking why I’m moving from doing party songs to making slower songs. But I’m not trying to change my sound, it’s just that I find myself in another realm or mood now."

Shallipopi is the professional name of Crown Uzama. The singer was born in Benin City of Nigeria, and started his career in the early 2010s. The singer released his debut EP, Planet Pluto (EP), on July 10, 2023. This was followed by another record, Presido La Pluto, in November 2023, and finally the previously mentioned Shakespopi.

Aside from his solo music releases, the singer has collaborated with singer Victony on the album Stubborn and with Rema on the single Benin Boys. The singer has also collaborated with King Promise on the single Continental. In 2025, he won the Best Rap Single award at The Headies award for the single Cast, which features Odumodublvck.
