Katy Perry may be ready to kick off a new musical era. The pop singer has spent the last year promoting her 2024 album 143 and touring internationally. Her fanbase is currently speculating after she recently posted a cryptic message on her official website that seemingly hinted at new music.

On her Instagram Story, Katy Perry simply wrote, "How's your day?" followed by three emojis. The same icons later appeared on her official website. Fans who clicked them were met with this message:

"We have something for that, sign up to get updates."

That short post sent fans across X (formerly Twitter) into a frenzy. Some users believe the message signals the start of her next musical era. One netizen commented,

"She better not involve that man again in any capacity or she will be really over"

Katy Perry's last project, 143, was her seventh studio album. It was released on September 20, 2024. The record was described by Perry as a "dance party album" and featured collaborations with Max Martin and Stargate, and relatively newer names like Vaughn Oliver and Rocco Did It Again!

143 debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. A reissued version, 143² (I Love You Too), was dropped in December 2024. It featured four new tracks, including the fan-favorite "OK." The digital re-release coincided with Katy Perry's Lifetimes Tour, which began in April 2025. The upcoming tour dates are as follows:
