More details on Lady Gaga’s "Abracadabra"

"Abracadabra" was released on February 3, 2025, as the second single of her 2025 studio album, Mayhem. The song was written by Gaga alongside Andrew Watt, Henry Walter, Susan Janet Ballion, Peter Edward Clarke, Steven Severin, and John McGeoch. At the same time, the production was handled by Cirkut, Andrew Watt, and Lady Gaga.

"Abracadabra" is centered on the themes of choice, death, magic, and love. The pre-chorus reads:

“Like a poem said by a lady in red/ You hear the last few words of your life/ With a haunting dance, now you're both in a trance/ It's time to cast your spell on the night.”

Upon release, "Abracadabra" received positive reviews. Robin Murray of Clash described the single as “a thrilling piece of pop music that moves from light to shadow with expert control.” While giving their review, DIY described the chorus as “catchy” and the song as a “dancefloor anthem.”

“Make no mistake—Lady Gaga is back. Her latest single, 'Abracadabra', is an unrestrained dancefloor anthem that takes us straight back to her The Fame Monster days in the late 2000s.”

Abracadabra is certified platinum in Brazil, France, and Poland.
