Mariska Hargitay starred in Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood music video in 2015, and the Law & Order actress revealed that she learnt the importance of fearlessness from working alongside the 32-year-old singer.

Hargitay appeared on the June 25, 2025, episode of Call Her Daddy with host Alex Cooper, where she talked about discovering her biological father, her experience as a survivor of sexual assault, her character in the SVU Series, and her friendship with Taylor Swift.

The 61-year-old spoke about starring in Swift’s "Bad Blood" music video and described it as the best one:

“It was so fun. It’s the best music video,”

The actress described Taylor Swift as a boss lady, adding that she had learnt so much from her:

"She was just warm and smart and kind and such a boss lady,”

She added:

“I learned so much from her. That's what I love about her, is that she's so young, but she shows us in such beautiful ways how to be fearless and a boss lady."

Mariska also recalled the moment she joined the cast of the music video, including Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Ellen Pompeo, and Karlie Kloss amongst others, on the MTV Video Music Awards stage in 2015.

She described it as a gathering of the cool girls:

“That was the most fun, being in the squad with all the cool girls and supermodels. It was the most fun ever.”

“I only do Taylor Swift videos now,” Mariska Hargitay jokingly boasts on the Call Her Daddy podcast

Mariska gushed over Taylor Swift’s impact on her life and added that she was down to star in another music video from Taylor Swift:

“If Tay Tay asked me. I'm hoping I'm standing by for Taylor. I only do Taylor Swift videos now. I've hit the big time.”

"Bad Blood"’s music video currently boasts over 1 billion views on YouTube and was released from her fifth studio album, 1989. The music video followed the story of two former best friends torn apart by betrayal, who recruit others into their group in preparation for their showdown.

The music video assembled female celebrities from all walks of life and featured a production that leaned towards sci-fi and action. The video also featured Grammy Award-winning guest rapper Kendrick Lamar.

"Bad Blood" had won Best Music Video at the 2016 Grammy Awards and Video of the Year and Best Collaboration at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

In November 2024, Mariska spoke with PEOPLE and shared that she loved Taylor Swift’s music. She described it as an “anthem for ages” and Taylor Swift as “an important cultural soul.”
