“Sunday kind of Love”: Mandy Teefey shows love to her daughter Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco as the couple gets married

Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomez's mother, shared a screenshot of the Rare Beauty founder's Instagram story on her own Instagram story. She captioned it:

The Instagram post comes a few hours after Gomez herself shared photos from the intimate wedding ceremony. Selena and Benny Blanco tied the knot on Saturday (September 27) in a small ceremony attended by a few of her Only Murders in the Building co-stars, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Paul Rudd, as well as her popstar BFF, Taylor Swift.

The wedding was held at a private estate in Santa Barbara in California. The rehearsal dinner was at an estate in Hope Ranch in Goleta Valley in California.

Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomez's mother, was disappointed at her daughter's decision of who would walk her down the aisle on her wedding day. According to sources from the Daily Mail, they revealed:

"Selena's mother and her stepfather Brian were shattered she didn't choose her mother to walk her down the aisle... In a shock move she chose her grandfather David [Cornett] to give her away to Benny."

They also shared how her grandfather reacted to Selena's decision. They explained:

"David and his wife Debbie broke down in tears of joy when she asked him. Selena made the decision as soon as they started planning the wedding."

The reason behind Selena's decision to choose her grandfather to give her away on her wedding day is that she spent a huge chunk of her life growing up under their care. It was a way to honor them for the way they "raised her," and for Gomez, there is "no bigger way" to express her gratitude for everything they have done for her.

Gomez knew it was a sensitive topic to talk about with her mother and decided to delay it for a month. She also asked her grandparents to keep it a secret. When Mandy was told of Selena's decision, she was "shattered," and it took her "a few weeks to accept" her daughter's decision.

However, after the wedding and Teefey's Instagram post, it seems like all is well between Selena and her mother.
