Queen Latifah gave a heartfelt tribute to the late Quincy Jones during her performance at the Oscars 2025.
The renowned record producer, who passed away in November 2024 at the age of 91, was one of the 2024 honorees at the Governors Awards event held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in November, a few days after Jones' passing.
In June 2024, the Academy said that Jones would be honored with an honorary Oscar for his musical contributions to cinema.
The crowd was raised to its feet by the upbeat song, which had Latifah in an opulent gold gown and a lot of support singers and dancers. The throng inside the Dolby Theatre was spotted dancing to the music, including Colman Domingo and Ariana Grande.

The late Quincy Jones was honored by the hip-hop legend, who brought contagious enthusiasm to the Oscars stage with a passionate rendition of The Wiz's Ease on Down the Road.
The performance, which was introduced by Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg, saw Latifah leading a vibrant troupe of dancers while wearing a beautiful silver cloak. The festive mood was enhanced by the participation of celebrities in the front row.
Nonetheless, others said the homage was insufficient for a person of Jones' caliber, considering his enormous influence on the music and movie industries.
Goldberg and Winfrey were nominated for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively, for their roles in The Wiz and The Color Purple, for which Jones would eventually get nominations.
Jones' other well-known songs were played as the victors left the stage throughout the evening, while Cynthia Erivo, the Best Actress contender, sang a cover of "Home" by The Wiz at the beginning of the performance.
