Charli XCX recently performed at the Other Stage of Glastonbury 2025.

The singer performed songs such as Von Dutch, Sympathy Is A Knife, and 365. The singer's set drew strong criticism from some netizens, who called out the singer for what they felt was bad music and even worse performance. @TomGuy93 summed their disappointment in this X post:

"This Glastonbury set by Charli XCX is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in my life. Barely singing, autotune in the rare moments she does sing a bit and horrendous dancing. Be fuming if you spent ages getting into that crowd only to see that."

Charli XCX initially responded to the criticism and said,

"Like the idea that singing with deliberate autotune makes you a fraud or that not having a traditional band suddenly means you must not be a “real artist” is like, the most boring take ever. Yawn sorry just fell asleep xx"

The singer has now clapped back at the comments again, calling them "boomer vibe" after her initial response to the criticism drew even more criticism:

"Really enjoying these boomer vibe comments on my glastonbury performance. It’s super fascinating to me."

The singer's clap back has drawn a mixture of comments, with some netizens supporting the singer and others defending the criticisms labelled at the singer by "boomers":

"Are boomers stupid and lame (and their opinions therefore instantly discardable) or are they just more familiar with good singing." one netizen stated.
"Boomer here, loved every minute of your set and been thinking about it all day wishing I could go back in time and be an Apple Girl xx." another netizen stated.
"I like your music, but the performance didn't work for me HOWEVER I think you have more than earned the right to headline with all the hard work you've put in over the years. All these people slating you, The 1975 etc, clearly need to open their ears or shut their mouths imo." one netizen commented.
