Tickets and other details for The Boyz's tour have not been announced as of the writing of this article. The tour announcement comes at a time when the group is facing difficult times due to Ju Haknyeon's departure and the surrounding controversy around it.
Aside from Ju Haknyeon, the group will also be missing another member, Sangyeon, who is currently away to complete his mandatory military service.
Ju Haknyeon's controversy and departure from The Boyz explored
The controversy surrounding Ju Haknyeon is related to his meeting with former Japanese adult actress and now influencer Asuka Kirara during a visit to Japan at a private lounge in Roppongi. The meeting was reported by a Japanese tabloid, Shukan Bunshu.
This meeting and the subsequent revelation led The Boyz's agency, One Hundred Entertainment, to terminate Haknyeon's contract and compel his withdrawal from the group. One Hundred Entertainment announced Ju Haknyeon's departure in an X post on June 18, 2025:
Ju Haknyeon was also facing charges of violating South Korea's prostitution laws after a complaint was filed by a netizen at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, South Korea.
Specifically, he has been accused of violating Article 4 of the Act on the Punishment of Arranging Sexual Traffic. Prostitution and related activities are banned in South Korea, irrespective of where said activities happen. Violation of such bans can carry fines up to KRW 3.00 million and prison time.
Ju Haknyeon has denied agreeing to withdraw from The Boyz and is now pursuing legal actions against One Hundred Entertainment:
“Hello, this is Ju Haknyeon. Despite having clearly stated that I have not engaged in any illegal activities, I will take all legal action, both civil and criminal, against certain reporters and media outlets who continue to write malicious articles. If there is any evidence that I engaged in prostitution, please release it immediately."
Haknyeon's statement continues:
"Furthermore, I have not withdrawn from the team, nor have I agreed to the termination of my exclusive contract. Even though there are no grounds for contract termination explicitly stated in the contract, my agency is trying to fabricate such reasons."
He further added:
"Some media outlets are also harming my reputation by mentioning prostitution without any basis. My agency demanded over 2 billion KRW in compensation and told me to leave the company, but I have never accepted this. Despite this, the agency informed the media that the contract termination had been finalized. This is a clear falsehood."
Ju Haknyeon ended the statement with the message that he intends to hold the agency accountable and that he will work to the end to reveal the truth of the matter.
One Hundred subsequently responded with their own message, contradicting Haknyeon's claims and claiming the decision to terminate the contract with him was well within the contract's legal bounds.
