Radiohead has not released a new album since 2016
Radiohead has not released a new album since 2016, when they released A Moon Shaped Pool. This makes it their largest gap between albums, at over eight years. Their largest gap previously between albums was four years, between each of their last four albums.
Radiohead members have been busy instead with their own side projects, with Thom Yorke, the vocalist of the band, currently heading up The Smile, a band featuring fellow Radiohead member Jonny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet member Tom Skinner. The band has been on tour recently and released their fourth studio album, Cutouts, in 2024.
Colin Greenwood collaborated with Nick Cave on his 2024 album Wild God. He also released a photo book, How to Disappear: A Portrait of Radiohead. Ed O'Brien is currently recording his second studio album, set to feature appearances by Selway and Eska.
Philip Selway released his third studio album, Strange Dance, in 2023. Selway has also collaborated with the band Lanterns on the Lake on their album Versions of Us.
Jonny Greenwood, alongside collaborating with Thom Yorke on the band The Smile, has also worked with Israeli musician Dudu Tassa on the album Jarak Qaribak in 2023. He also recently contributed to the soundtrack of films such as The Power of the Dog, Spencer, and You Were Never Really Here.
Radiohead is known for their seminal second studio album, OK Computer, released in 1997. The album remains their most successful album to date. The band is also known for later works such as Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Thief, among others.
