After a career of more than six decades, The Who are officially preparing to say goodbye. On May 8, 2025, the band announced The Song Is Over farewell tour. It will take them across North America one last time.

The Song Is Over tour kicks off this August in Florida and is scheduled to happen on 16 dates across multiple U.S. and Canadian cities. Venues include Madison Square Garden in New York, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and Fenway Park in Boston. The final show, as scheduled, takes place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

However, it is worth noting that this is not the first time The Who have hinted at a farewell. Since the early 1980s, fans have seen multiple tours announced to be their last. Nevertheless, this time, founding members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are clear: This farewell run is the real deal.

Consequence of Sound reports that at a press conference in London, the duo described the upcoming trek as a "truly grand finale." For The Who followers and enthusiasts, it is going to be the final chance to experience one of rock's most beloved acts on stage.

The Who shared the final farewell tour announcement on their official Instagram handle. The post read:

"JUST ANNOUNCED: The Who will bring The Song Is Over - The North American Farewell Tour to The Garden on Sat, Aug 30! Access venue presale tickets starting Wed, May 14 at 10am with code SOCIAL. Tickets go on sale to the general public Fri, May 16 at 10am."

The Who was formed in the early 1960s, and became a beloved act in the British rock scene. They rose to fame with anthems like My Generation, Baba O'Riley, and Won't Get Fooled Again. The band's OG lineup included Daltrey, Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon.
