After nearly six decades, beloved British rock band The Who are preparing to say goodbye to North American audiences with their final tour, named The Song Is Over. The band has officially announced the complete lineup of supporting acts for the 2025 leg of their farewell run.
The Who's farewell tour officially kicks off on August 16, 2025, in Sunrise, Florida, and runs through September 28, 2025, in Las Vegas. The trek will be covering 17 shows across the U.S. and Canada.
A second date has also been added in Chicago on September 9, 2025, following the first at United Center on September 7, 2025. In this "truly grand finale" of their tour, a rotating roster of special guests across different cities will join the founding members, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.
Support acts vary by location and include Billy Idol, Joe Bonamassa, Feist, ZZ Ward, Booker T. Jones, Candlebox, Tom Cochrane, Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters, and The Joe Perry Project.
The Who shared the announcement via their official Instagram page. The post read:
"The Who have confirmed a powerful lineup of special guests set to join them on their final North American run, The Song Is Over Tour. Artists including Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters, Billy Idol, Booker T. Jones, Candlebox, Feist, Joe Bonamassa, The Joe Perry Project (Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Buck Johnson, Chris Robinson, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz), Tom Cochrane, and ZZ Ward will appear across various stops on the historic farewell tour."
They also added:
"Additionally, The Who have added a second night in Chicago, IL — Tuesday, September 9 at United Center — due to incredible fan demand. Joe Bonamassa will support both Chicago dates. Full details and links on thewho.com, the official web site for The Who"
Fans who are interested in securing their tickets early for the new Chicago date can participate in a Live Nation presale beginning on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. CT using the code FREESTYLE.
Additional presales, including for Citi cardholders and The Who's official fan club, start on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. General ticket sales begin on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10 a.m. local time via the official The Who website.
