With From Zero, Linkin Park has delivered yet another chart-topping hit. The album was released in 2024, followed by a deluxe edition in May 2025. The band took a break from producing music after Chester Bennington died in 2017.
The last album with former lead singer Chester Bennington, titled One More Light, and the recent album, From Zero, with new lead singer Emily Armstrong, follow almost a seven-year gap.
Speaking about From Zero, Mike Shinoda, in a recent interview with Music Connection, told the outlet:
"When we put out those songs, it was like, ‘God, I hope someone likes this. In 24 hours, you’ll know if everybody hates your guts."
Shinoda is a co-founder of Linkin Park. Adding to his statement, band member Brad Delson told the outlet,
"We launched all these plans before anyone heard anything or saw anything…There was so much pressure around that launch. It was face-melting. Arenas and stadiums were locked in before we’d even played a note. It was a miracle no one knew."
The album became a fan favorite soon after it was launched by taking the number one position on many charts, including US Top Rock Albums (Billboard), UK Rock & Metal Albums, Australian Albums (ARIA), and Italian Albums (FIMI).
Linkin Park's Brad Delson talks about Chester Bennington's death
Chester Bennington's death came as a shock to the music industry. The lead singer died by suicide at the age of 41. Speaking about Chester's death, Delson told the outlet:
"We definitely gave ourselves time to just sit in the grief and heal—as much as one does"
Brad Delson, along with Mike Shinoda and Rob Bourdon, co-founded Linkin Park in the mid-1990s. He began playing with the group around 1996, back when it was originally known as Xero.
Continuing his statement, Delson added:
"Eventually a spark emerged to begin a new chapter and making art anew, and yeah, it's been really fascinating and fulfilling, and I'm really proud of From Zero, and the show and the humans involved."
Talking about the new album, From Zero, Mike Shinoda added:
"We kind of just decided to just keep moving and keep our minds open to what seemed interesting, or what seemed like the right choice, and we arrived at the body of music that became From Zero, and the lineup as you see it."
The From Zero Deluxe album consists of fourteen songs with two new band members, Emily Armstrong as lead singer and Colin Brittain as drummer.
After their success, Linkin Park also performed at the UEFA Champions League Final and the League of Legends. With the success of From Zero, fans are now waiting to see what new project the band will take on next.
