BLACKPINK’s Rosé has graced the cover of W Magazine China’s 2025 Vol. 2 Energy Issue. In an interview with the magazine, the APT crooner discussed her perception of creating music. According to the K-pop idol, real music is created from one’s experiences and only then can it inspire listeners:

"I came to realise that true music must come from true stories. Some emotions simply can't be faked - only those feelings that rise from deep within can give a song the power to truly move people."

The illustrious magazine announced its Rosé feature through a carousel of photos shared on its Instagram page on April 29, 2025. In one shot, the singer is dressed in a white jacket with feather-like detailing and another in a simple cream-coloured gown.

She also wears a black leather jacket and black blazers, matching pants, a striped tie and black sling-backs.

The 28-year-old artist also discussed making her debut solo album, Rosie and how she discovered what songwriting truly entails:

"Creating the album 'Rosie' was a learning journey for me. At first, I was simply curious about songwriting and wanted to be involved in the creative process. But from the very first day, I realised that beyond learning musical techniques, the real challenge is learning how to tell a story."

The Korean superstar continued that during the songwriting process for Rosie, she discovered that the music healed her, and she wanted more, so she began to create more:

"At that moment, I understood the power of music, the power of participation in the creation of healing for yourself and perhaps for others, and I was addicted to it."

Rosé took the magazine on a step-by-step look at what usually happens when she creates music. She revealed that when she created songs, she liaised with her team for the ones that would make it into the final body of work:

"When I am inspired, there are many things going on in my brain at the same time, so I need a good team around me to help sort it out. There are some songs that I really want to include, but I have to admit that they don't fit in with the overall style of this album."

The BLACKPINK member talked about dealing with self-doubt as an artist. Rosé shared that her self-doubt stemmed from having too many ideas to choose from. She added that she spent a lot of time worrying about the tiniest details because she didn’t want to regret anything in the end. She added that as an overthinker, she found solace in the fact that she had tried her best.

Rosé just made Billboard 200 history as the first female K-pop soloist to chart for 20 weeks with her Rosie album.
