Baltimore hardcore band Turnstile is gearing up for a free, community-driven concert in its hometown. On May 10, 2025, the band will perform at Wyman Park Dell, a space between Johns Hopkins University and the Charles Village neighborhood.
The event entry is free. However, it is also a fundraiser. Turnstile is encouraging donations instead of charging for tickets.
The band is inviting attendees to donate in support of Health Care for the Homeless, a Baltimore-based nonprofit that provides medical services to the city's unhoused population. It offers medical, dental, and behavioral health care.
Turnstile is preparing for the release of their fourth studio album, Never Enough, which is scheduled to go out on June 6, 2025, via Roadrunner Records. Before the release, Turnstile is playing only two shows in the United States: the Baltimore event and a performance on June 5, 2025, at Brooklyn's "Under the K Bridge" venue.
Afterward, they are officially set to head overseas for a string of festival appearances and club dates across Europe and the UK.
The show at Wyman Park Dell will begin at 6 PM and is open to the public. Fans can donate on-site or online to Health Care for the Homeless to support the cause.
More on Turnstile
Turnstile was formed in Baltimore in 2010. It emerged from the city's hardcore punk scene. They have explored multiple genres, such as hardcore, funk, alternative rock, and R&B, with their music.
Reports suggest that the band's breakthrough came with their 2021 album GLOW ON, which drew notable acclaim from fans and enthusiasts.
Blabber Mouth reports that in a statement, Turnstile vocalist Brendan Yates shared:
"What drew, and still draws me to [hardcore], is that none of us were musicians. Punk and hardcore are less focused on skill and more on expressing yourself. It's hard to imagine other communities where you [can have] people come out and support you when you're really bad at your instrument."
He added:
"The way I taught myself how to play the guitar is wrong — I played with the wrong fingers and stuff like that — but I learned enough to feel good about what I was trying to get out. I think making music is just a shot in the dark. It's this open canvas."
