The ADOR versus NewJeans drama has taken a new turn as the HYBE Group sub-label removes all traces and references of NewJeans, now performing as NJZ, from its official website. The news was shared by @kchartsmaster on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption:
“ADOR has removed NewJeans from their website.”
The post quickly garnered several reactions as netizens took to the comments section to give their opinions on the news. The comments section was filled with mixed reactions as internet users argued whether that was a good or bad thing for NJZ.
@khiawings commented:
“WAR IS OVER????”
Bunnies, the fan base of NewJeans, celebrated the news, claiming the girl group was free to start a new chapter.
“We're still waiting for the courts verdict. There was a final mediation attempt in July and the court said they would give their final verdict in October. I personally think NJZ will be free. But we'll find out in October,” @CarnieBeans61 wrote.
“Njs already conquered hybe they came in and became hype's best selling and most successful gg the second they debuted. Now they're moving on to bigger and better things,” @STVVRVENUS commented.
“MY GIRLS ARE FREEEEEE,” @diecul added.
On the other hand, several other X users believed this was the end for the girl group.
“Their speedrun was crazy, debuted out of nowhere, taking records from two of the Big 3 groups, became famous, dramatic *ss controversy, and finally the disband. They need to be in the history books,” @tpineapplelover stated.
“I find the bunnies celebrating funny, this doesn't look good for their group. It seems that the change in Adore's copyright notation (Adore --> Hive) and the removal of Newjins' intellectual property will cause the contract termination claim to become a penalty,” @mcyu99 replied.
“I especially hope ADOR and HYBE can get a huge amount of Recovery funds n Reconciliation from those troublemakers because regardless of what Enabler/Bunnies say this unnecessary drama n mess was caused fully by MHJ/NJ's, Thankfully this crap will finally be over/done with soon,” @AshSmithBTS20 added.
More details on ADOR and NewJeans drama
NewJeans, now known as NJZ, is a South Korean girl group consisting of five members. The group debuted in 2022 under the sub-label of HYBE Group, ADOR, and quickly rose to the top of the K-pop industry.
The label versus group drama began when ADOR’s founding CEO and NewJeans’ creative lead, Min Hee-jin, was fired due to allegations of attempting to seize control of the label. This move was the beginning of NewJeans' dissatisfaction with their record label.
After calling for Min Hee-jin’s reinstatement, the girls abruptly left the label in November 2024 after their conditions weren't met. Following their departure, they accused the label of discrimination, mismanagement, contract violations, and a toxic work environment, leading to a legal dispute between the girls and ADOR.
