Baby named after Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift goes viral

Robert a long time fan of Travis and Haley a fan of Taylor decided to name their baby girl after the celebrities they both looked up to and honored them.

The baby's first name is inspired by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce a player Robert has admired for years. Wearing his No. 87 jersey in interviews, Robert said he’s followed Kelce since his draft days and respects how he carries himself both on and off the field. Kelce’s foundation work, especially with underserved youth, made the name even more meaningful for the couple.

The middle name, Taylor-Grace, is where Taylor Swift comes in. Haley shared that while she wasn’t always a hardcore fan, watching Taylor Swift’s actions offstage like her charitable donations and support for local causes during her Eras Tour made a strong impression.

“I really grew to love her as a human being, more than just the superstar that she is,” Haley said.

And there’s even more thought behind the name. “TG,” the initials for Taylor-Grace, are also a subtle tribute to Robert’s childhood football hero, Tony Gonzalez. The couple loved that the name could carry layers of meaning and still offer plenty of nickname options for their daughter as she grows. Whether she wants to go by Kelce, Kels, or KT, the choice is hers.

Since the post took off, they’ve seen overwhelmingly positive reactions. Some fans even confused the news, thinking the baby belonged to the Travis and Taylor Swift. Haley laughed it off, saying:

“I am flattered that people think my baby is Taylor Swift’s baby.”

For the couple, it was never about chasing viral fame. They simply wanted to give their daughter a name rooted in admiration and inspiration. Whether Swift and Kelce stay together or not, Haley and Robert see them as individuals worth looking up to. The name started as a fun suggestion during a drive but now, it carries a story that little Kelce Taylor-Grace will grow up with, one headline at a time.
