Beyoncé's much-awaited Cowboy Carter tour started on April 28. The first show took place at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. While the album, Cowboy Carter, won the Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Country Album, the concert faced low ticket sales, which surprised many.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, over 3,000 seats remained unsold at SoFi Stadium before Beyoncé started her performance on April 28. The venue has a total capacity of more than 70,000.

The reason behind that has been linked to resellers, individuals, or businesses that purchase large quantities of concert tickets and later sell them to fans at inflated prices, as per the Daily Mail's source.

Fans also speculate that Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s rumored ties to Diddy, amid his recent controversies, may be contributing to the low ticket sales, as some are hesitant to support the tour. The couple were linked to Diddy's legal issues in December 2024 when a lawsuit accused Jay-Z of misconduct together with Diddy. However, it was dismissed a few months later.

As per Live Nation, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour is 94% sold out across all shows.

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour tickets are being compared to a McDonald's Minecraft meal

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour tickets saw resale prices drop as low as $20-$35 in some cities. Some fans even saw a shift in their seats just hours before the concert. According to fan speculation, the varied discounts were likely due to thousands of unsold seats, despite the high initial presale prices.

One X user, @breeyonceee, shared her experience of being moved to a different seat in the Cowboy Carter tour by adding:

"My floor ticket was moved to a different section and when I called Ticketmaster to ask why, they said that the production team moved my seat because of obstruction view of the stage and the team relocated me. Did this happen to anyone else? I was on the aisle seat of section A2."

Another user, @Unhinged_Cass, compared Beyoncé's tickets to the McDonald's Minecraft meal by writing:

"Due to its low demand, @Beyonce 's "Cowboy Carter Tour" tickets ($20) are now cheaper than a McDonald's Minecraft meal ($21.39)."

Beyoncé is set to perform her next show at the same venue (SoFi Stadium) on May 1. As of April 28, the cheapest ticket available was priced at $72.65.

So far, Beyoncé or her spokesperson has not made any public statement regarding the low ticket sales. The Cowboy Carter tour will conclude on July 26 after completing 32 shows.
