3 Doors Down's Brad Arnold has been diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer, specifically clear cell renal cancer, the most common form of the disease. Due to this diagnosis, the band has canceled their summer tour.

Arnold posted a message on the official Instagram page of the band, stating:

"Hey everybody, it’s Brad from Three Doors Down. I hope you’re having a great day today. Got some not so good news for you today. So, I’d been sick a couple of weeks ago and then went to the hospital and got checked out, and actually got the diagnosis that I had a clear cell renal cell carcinoma that had metastasized into my lung."

The singer continued:

"And it’s stage four, and that’s not real good. But you know what? We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything. So I have no fear. I really sincerely am not scared of it at all. But it is gonna force us to cancel our tour this summer. And we’re sorry for that."

The singer continued:

"And I’d love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get. And Ithink it is time for me to go listen to ‘It’s Not My Time’ a little bit, right? Thank you guys so much. God loves you. We love you. See you."

3 Doors Down last toured with Creed in 2024

3 Doors Down last toured with Creed as part of the Are You Ready? Tour in 2024 and the Summer of 99 Tour before that. The band also took part in the Summer of 99' Cruise earlier this year in 2025 on April 9, 2025.

3 Doors Down has mostly been a live band in recent years, with their latest studio album, Us and the Night, having been released all the way back in 2016. The band did start writing new music around 2018, with Chris Henderson stating in an exclusive interview with The Gazette on July 25, 2018:

"It wasn't that long ago that the last one was released. Who knows when we'll follow that one up. But we have been writing new songs. Maybe we'll release a single or a couple of new songs. We just might not release an album for a while. We still love creating new material - there's just not a market for it. But fans still like going out and seeing us."

3 Doors did not release a full studio album, but in 2019 they released an EP, Acoustic Back Porch Jam. These were six songs that were played as part of their 2019 tour, the Back Porch Jam tour. In 2021, they released a remastered version of their debut album, The Better Life: 20th Anniversary Edition.

3 Doors down currently consists of Brad Arnold, Chris Henderson, Greg Upchurch, Chet Roberts and Justin Biltoten. The band originally started out with Brad Arnold, Chris Henderson as well as Matt Roberts and Todd Harell.

The band is best known for their debut album, The Better Life, and their second studio album, Away from the Sun. 3 Doors Down also released a compilation album, The Greatest Hits, in 2012.
