NBA YoungBoy's Kansas City concert was held at the T-Mobile Center on September 21, 2025, as part of his MASA tour. During the concert, an unnamed teen fan of NBA YoungBoy was caught assaulting an employee after he was asked to sit in the correct seat. According to Fox4 and subsequent reports the employee was identified as Thomas Schlange, 66. The teen was caught punching him multiple times.
An investigation is currently underway regarding the incident, as per 41KSHB. A T-Mobile Center spokesperson made the following statement to the press:
"The safety of our employees and guests remains our top priority. This isolated incident does not reflect our venue, our city, or the thousands of guests of all ages who enjoyed the show without incident. Safety protocols are reviewed for every event, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement regarding this matter"
The Kansas City Police Department also made a statement to the press, with the KCPD spokesperson stating:
"This investigation is active and ongoing, and detectives are actively working with prosecutors for consideration of applicable charges."
Schlange also made a statement to FOX 4 News, talking about his experience in the incident:
"I mean, it is serious; I went down and had blows to my head. He was so enraged, so we were just, in essence, trying to protect the fans....The message is: we, as young adults or people growing into adulthood, we need to learn how to control our anger"
A fundraiser has been created on GoFundMe to cover the medical costs of Thomas Schlange by his grandson Herber Lopez. The funding goal is $10,000 USD, and currently $6,524 USD has been raised.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas's office also issued a statement regarding the incident, telling FOX 4 News:
"Concerts, sporting events and community gatherings should be safe places of joy and connection, not fear or harm. The venue will work with KCPD, our prosecutors and our employees to ensure the assailants are identified and charged for the criminal conduct that occurred Sunday evening."
