Oklahoma country artists Zach Bryan and John Moreland are publicly feuding after the former signed a deal with Warner Records. For those who are unfamiliar with the two country singers, Bryan and Moreland worked together on Zach's song titled Memphis; The Blues. The song was released in 2024 under the album, The Great American Bar Scene.

Here is how the feud happened. The Something In The Orange singer renewed his record deal with Warner Records for two more albums. He also announced that he was planning to sell his publishing catalogue for $350 million. According to Holler, John Moreland addressed this news on Instagram, saying:

"$350 M is a lot of money to pay for the f***** off-brand version of me. Y'all have a great day".

Many were unsure if John Moreland was merely teasing the I Remember Everything singer, until Bryan addressed Moreland's jab, via Instagram. He replied:

"Yooo just saw this from an artist I've always respected and supported. Not trying to be dramatic but refuse to have anyone with a problem with me on my records. Replacing Memphis the Blues. If it goes down for a bit just know this is the reason!"

War of words between Zach Bryan and John Moreland

Zach Bryan stuck true to his words and the rendition of Memphis; The Blues featuring John Moreland has been removed from streaming platforms. Bryan posted again on Instagram after removing the track.

"No hard feelings! Confused as s**t, Tulsans look out for Tulsans!...Last thing I say on it! Not partial to arguing with butt hurt grown men," the country singer added, referring to the fact that they both come from the same place.

However, John Moreland did not back down. Per Holler, he responded to Zach's latest post by saying:

"Just a really big artist from where I'm from asking me to be on a record - cool. At this point I've hung out with him five, six times. I don't like this motherf*****. Am I supposed to be upset? If I was asked to be on the album today I wouldn't do it. I don't want to be on an album with a dude who is a d***head to my wife and my friends right in front of me every time I see him."

John Moreland continued a list of his reasons why he would not want to team up with Bryan again.

"I don't want to be on an album with a dude who I've heard tell borderline racist jokes more than once. I don't want to be on an album with a dude who brings a 19-year old girl in the bar, and then when they tell him she can't be in there, looks at me like I'm supposed to have his f***** back. I don't like that person".

He concluded by posting:

"That’s who thinks I’m an a**hole? Fine. As far as I'm concerned, getting kicked off a Zach Bryan album is way f****** cooler than being on a Zach Bryan album".

What began as a remark on Zach Bryan's achievements and success has turned into a full-blown public feud. With both sides not backing down, Memphis; The Blues, a track that both Bryan and Moreland worked on, was removed from the former's album. What once seemed like mutual respect has now turned into open hostility.
