American rapper and online streamer DDG recently addressed the growing obsession with streaming numbers on his recent livestream. According to the rapper, music should not be about the number of streams but about appreciating the art and creativity.
"Yo, this music shit has gotten so bad that n*ggas are talking about first day streams bro. Come on, bro, like Jesus. What has the music industry become? I remember back in the day, it was about music being nostalgic and being a part of a moment in your life. I listen to certain albums, and they bring me back to when I was a kid. “
He continued:
“Nowadays, it's all about who can get the most numbers and who can get the most streams. How about we start enjoying music for what music is, art. The last time I checked, when I think of art, I never thought of a number. Has a n*gga ever painted a number? No. N*gga make some creative out of his mind.”
