Paris Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, has spoken out following backlash over her scheduled performance on June 25, 2025, which is the 16th anniversary of her father's death.

The 27-year-old singer is officially set to perform in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of Morning View + The Hits. It is a joint U.S. and UK tour by the alternative rock band Incubus. Manchester Orchestra is also on the bill.

Some fans expressed disappointment on social media. They claimed Paris Jackson should have kept the date free out of respect for her father's memory. However, in a video shared to her Instagram Stories on June 13, 2025, Paris Jackson addressed the criticism.

She explained that as a supporting act, she has no control over the tour schedule. She said that she would not be pulling out of the show to appease internet opinions. Notably, Paris insisted that performing on that date does not reflect a lack of grief or love for her father.

In her now-expired Instagram Story, Paris Jackson addressed the situation, stating:

"One of the dates I'm supposed to be going out on tour happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me and my family. But when you are not headlining these shows, you don't pick what date you perform. So I am gonna tell 'em, 'Sorry, guys, we can't perform on this date?' F*ck you."

Paris Jackson continued by pointing out the realities of life on tour as a supporting artist:

"First of three also does not get a tour bus. You get maybe a sprinter van. But I am not going to have my band with me this time. It's just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiancé.”

Jackson recently confirmed her engagement to sound engineer Justin Long in December 2024. Paris further continued:

"This feels like they are doing me a favor by bringing me out on tour. So you think I am going to tell them, 'Sorry, we can't perform on this date?' F*ck you."

The Nashville show on June 25 is one stop on the Morning View + The Hits tour. It will see Incubus performing their 2001 album Morning View in full alongside a collection of other hits. The tour features Manchester Orchestra and Paris Jackson on select dates.
