American country singer Luke Combs recently spoke about a gift he received from American country singer and songwriter Garth Brooks. The 35-year-old country star, known for the hit song Hurricane, shared that he received a blue Bronco Raptor from Garth as a thank-you gift for appearing at the latter’s Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Luke Combs was shocked when he received the gift, as he didn't expect to receive anything for participating in the event, especially not something as expensive as a car.
“This was last Christmas. My wife was out somewhere, and I was feeding my son at the dinner table of our house, and I could see our gate. And I was like, man, why’s my manager pulling up in this Bronco? It's just the same as his, blue, wide…you know the raptor package. And he would never show up at my house, I announced, you know? So I was like, man, this is kinda weird that he would show up.”
He continued:
“He walks in, and I figured like, ‘well, I guess he's giving me a Christmas present. So he comes in and throws me the keys to this thing. And I'm like, ‘Are you giving me your car, dude?’ He’s like, ‘No man, Garth bought you this.”
Luke was completely shocked by the unexpected act of appreciation. He revealed that he hadn't spoken to Grath Brooks after the induction, but had to call him then.
“It was wild. Like I called him and was like, ‘Hey man, you didn't have to do this dude.’”
He remembered Brook telling him he didn't have to be there for his event, but he made it, and that's all that matters.
“I was just kind of floored by that, to be honest,” Luke added.

He also spoke about dealing with OCD, his music career, and being thankful.
“Luke and Dax talk about his high school music teachers that still come to his shows, assuming that life was getting a job that you hate because he didn’t know any different, and that being thankful for what you have and helping others is the antidote to entitlement. Luke explains why we’re in international waters in terms of where the music industry is going, how he took having his first studio album at #1 for 44 weeks, and the intrusive thoughts-related form of OCD that he's dealt with all his life.”
During his appearance on the podcast, Luke recalled a special moment when he met Tracy Chapman for the first time. He revealed that he was asked if he would like to meet her, and he had replied yes, thinking it would never happen.
However, some months went by, and he realized that his team had set up a meeting with the American singer. Luke Combs described the meeting as ‘crazy,’ claiming he couldn't believe it.
