The biggest music award show of the year will be held on September 7 at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. You can expect to see your favorite artists performing on stage and accepting some of the most prestigious awards for their achievements.
If you're wondering how to watch the award show, the 2025 VMAs will be broadcast for the first time on CBS and MTV. It will also be live-streamed on the premium tier of Paramount+. You can start watching from 7 p.m. CST.
Additionally, before the 2025 VMAs begin, a pre-award show will take place, where artists and musicians will walk the red carpet. The pre-award show will be aired on Comedy Central, MTV2, BET, BET Her, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, VH1, TV Land, Pop, CMT, and Logo. It will start at 6 p.m. CT.
What can you expect from the 2025 VMAs?
The 2025 VMAs will be hosted by LL Cool J, while the pre-award show will be hosted by Nessa Diab a.k.a. Nessa and Kevan Kenney.
This year, two new categories have been added to the VMAs: the Best Country Artist Award and the Best Pop Artist Award. To be eligible for a VMA, the music has to be released between June 20, 2024, and June 18, 2025.
Three artists will be honored at the VMAs this year. These include Mariah Carey, who will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Ricky Martin, who will be accepting the Latin Icon, and Busta Rhymes, who will receive the Rock the Bells Visionary. Both Carey and Martin will also be performing at the award show.
For presenters, you can expect to see the "KPop Demon Hunter" cast EJAE, REI AMI + Audrey Nuna (Huntr/x), Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson Ross, Ice Spice, Ciara, Drew Barrymore, Brittany Snow, Paris Hilton, Latto, Malin Akerman, Megan Stalter, Livvy Dunne, and Nikki Glaser.
As for the performers, Katseye were chosen as the performers for the pre-show. They will be performing their hit songs Gnarly and Gabriela. For the award show, the performers include Post Malone, Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga, Jelly Roll, Jennifer Lopez, Tate McRae, Busta Rhymes, Alex Warren, J Balvin with DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, Conan Gray, and Sombr.
