A-Ha, the band that was formed in 1982, has left fans heartbroken with the news of frontman Morten Harket's Parkinson's diagnosis. The news was announced on A-Ha's official website, where he said,
"I’ve got no problem accepting the diagnosis. With time I’ve taken to heart my 94-year-old father’s attitude to the way the organism gradually surrenders: ‘I use whatever works’"
In 2024, Morten Harket had brain surgery on both sides of his brain to help with his Parkinson’s symptoms, and it made a big difference physically.
However, the article revealed that his voice, which is very important to his music, has been affected, and he is not sure if he can sing again. He also asked his fans not to worry about him, as he is focusing on his health and taking care.
Who are the members of the A-Ha band?
A-Ha comprises three members. Paul Waaktaar-Savoy plays guitar and also provides vocals, Morten Harket is the lead singer, and Magne Furuholmen plays keyboards and guitar along with providing vocals.
Three years after forming the band, the band launched their first debut album, Hunting High and Low, in 1985. The album was a major success worldwide, reaching high chart positions in Norway, the U.K., and the U.S.
Fans especially loved the songs Take On Me and The Sun Always Shines on T.V. The band also received a Grammy nomination in the Best New Artist category.
The band has released 11 studio albums to date and has taken several breaks over the years due to low album sales and personal tensions. However, they are currently active.
