When was Spafford formed? Band announces fall 2025 tour

Arizona-based improvisational rock quartet Spafford has unveiled plans for an expansive Fall 2025 tour. Kicking off on October 21 in Seattle, the tour will wind its way through the Pacific Northwest, California, and the Southwest, culminating in a celebratory hometown show in Tempe, Arizona, on November 8. Known for their electrifying live sets and spontaneous jams, Spafford promises a dynamic run of performances that fans won’t want to miss.

Spafford was formed in 2009 in Arizona when founding members Brian Moss (guitar) and Jordan Fairless (bass) met at an open mic and began playing together casually. It eventually led to the formation of the band. The official lineup now features drummer Nick Tkachyk and keyboardist Cory Schectman.

Spafford shared the tour announcement via their official social media pages. The post read:

"🌵FALL TOUR '25🌵 Headed West! We are so excited to jump in the bus and hit some of our favorite spots out West, including TWO nights in Portland, OR 🕺 8 shows in California 🏄‍♂️ and our long awaited return to Flagstaff, AZ 👽 before wrapping tour up in Tempe, AZ! 👨‍🚀 We will see you out there! 🎟 available on 7/11 at 1 pm ET"

The Fall 2025 tour adds to an already packed year for Spafford, who will be hitting the road extensively across the U.S. throughout 2025. With spring and summer legs already on the books, the band is set to bring their signature improvisational sound to fans in the Midwest, Northeast, and South before heading west for the fall stretch. Shedding some light on the band's early days, Spafford bassist Jordan Fairless mentioned in an old statement:

"The band formed when Brian and I met in 2009 and started playing at open mics together, but we did not know it… We got people to dance so we kept doing it. We accidentally started the band as it is now when we get offered our first gig for New Years Eve 2009-10 and the rest is kind of history from there."
