Iconic Mexican band Los Bukis was reportedly formed in 1973 and has since gone on to become one of the longest-running Mexican musical groups. The group is set to be honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star on July 23 at 11:30 a.m. PT. According to the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website, the group is being awarded the "2,817th star".
Formed by cousins Marco Antonio and Joel Solis when they were children, the group's musical journey has spanned over the last five decades. The group has released twelve studio albums, including hits like Quiéreme, Tu Cárcel, and Yo Te Necesito. Marco (@marcoantoniosolis_oficial) took to his Instagram to express gratitude for the honor and wrote (roughly translated),
“Five decades ago this was born with so much essence, an essence of love and truth that managed to touch millions of hearts that today celebrate with us this recognition that will shine brightly in our firmament. Thank you Bukimania for taking us to this transcendent place. And forever The Bukis.”
Los Bukis to be honoured with Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Los Bukis are being honored with their Hollywood Walk of Fame star at the 7060 Hollywood Boulevard. Ana Martines, producer of the Walk of Fame, described the Mexican group as "legendary" and described their honour of housing the group's star. She noted,
“Their iconic discography has been part of the soundtrack of the Mexican experience for over 20 years and we’re happy to give them the flowers they deserve."
Something that started as a passion project between two cousins slowly became a name that every Mexican household would be familiar with. According to the Hall of Fame website, the group's "breakthrough" came with their 1976 album, Falso Amor, and gradually became performers at "legendary venues, including,
"Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and Mexico's Auditorio Nacional."
While Los Bukis hasn't announced if they'll be on tour this year, their fans expressed excitement for their Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Fans can stream the ceremony exclusively on "walkoffame.com."
In other news, Marco Antonio Solis, frontman and singer of the group, has announced his Más Cerca De Ti World Tour, per Rolling Stone. He will kick off the shows in Denver on August 1 and is expected to wrap up the tour on October 11 in San Juan.
