DDG recently released his new music, That’s My Ball, on July 3, 2025. The song is available on all streaming platforms, including Apple Music. Apple Music apparently linked the “poop” emoji with the rapper’s artist profile, and he called the platform out on social media over this:
"who at apple music trolling me since i dropped my new song? @AppleMusic fix this gang."
The singer followed this up with a second message a few hours later, responding to Pop Crave's reporting on the matter:
"noooooo not on the same day i drop my song."
It is unclear if the issue has been cleared or not. Apple Music has not responded to DDG’s posts as of the writing of this article. DDG also has not posted anything about it since his reaction to Pop Crave.
DDG released his latest album Blame The Chat in May 2025
DDG released his latest album, Blame The Chat, in May 2025. The album is the singer’s fourth studio album and his first since 2023’s Maybe It’s Me…. The singer talked about the new album in an exclusive interview with The Fader that was published on April 24, 2025, stating:
"Man, just doing the Hit-A-Thon for the week, and being live for 24 hours and just making music. And you know, when you get the whiteboard out, you get to writing the songs down, it just feel like album mode."
The singer continued:
"So during that week, I just let all the supporters get into my creativity and kind of [collaborated] with them on what they want. Because at the end of the day, they the consumers, it's not me. I'm creating the product for them to enjoy, so I'd rather just give them exactly what they like."
The new album comes at a time when DDG is fighting a legal battle against his ex, Hailey Bailey, over the custody of their son. Hailey Bailey has accused him of abuse and has been granted both a restraining order as well as temporary custody of their son.
The rapper has also been granted a restraining order against Bailey. He was unsuccessful in his battle to prevent her from going abroad from the U.S. with their son. DDG was, however, granted permission to visit Italy and see his son under a court-appointed supervisor.
The rapper’s mother was also granted permission to visit the child, who is called Halo. The rapper has also been barred from posting any image or video of Halo during the visit.
The rapper, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., started his career in 2016 with some singles. He released his debut EP, Take Me Serious, on March 17, 2018. This was followed by his second EP, Sorry 4 the Hold Up, on March 22, 2019. In 2019, the singer also released his debut album, Valedictorian.
The rapper started gaining traction with his debut mixtape, Die 4 Respect, which was released in 2021. The mixtape did well on the commercial charts, charting at the 61st position on the Billboard 200 album chart. The mixtape features a collaboration with OG Parker.
He released his second studio album, It’s Not Me It’s You, in 2022. This was followed by his third album, Maybe It’s Me…, in mid-2023. Alongside his solo work, the rapper has also been featured on records by artists such as YBN Almighty Jay and DJ K.i.D.
