Davido announces the singer-writer as the Music Director for his upcoming 5ive world tour

Davido is set to embark on his official '5Live' tour from July 11, 2025, to November 20, 2025, in venues across the mainland United States and Canada. The tour will be in support of the singer's new album of the same name, 5ive, which was released on April 18, 2025.

Now the singer has announced Cobhams Asuquo to be the musical director of his tour. Cobhams Asuquo is a Nigerian producer and songwriter. He was born in 1981 and started his career as a songwriter for Sony ATV London. This was by a long career producing songs by Omawumi and Banky W as well as Timi Dakolo, BEZ, Mo’Cheddah and Phyno, Darey and ASA.

Alongside his production details, Asuquo has also released his own single Ordinary People, and released the album For You, featuring appearances by Aaron Lindsey, Clare Hendershot, and Nosa. Cobhams Asuquo also started Vintage Gray Media in 2016.

Now, Cobhams Asuquo is set to try his hand as a musical director for Davido's tour, tickets for which are currently on sale via Ticketmaster. The singer announced an additional date on May 23, 2025:

Davido started his career back in 2011 and released his debut studio album, Omo Baba Olowo, on July 12, 2012. This was followed by collaborations with Mafikizolo, Meek Mill, Uhuru, DJ Buckz, Olamide, Tinashe, and Nasty C for several years, before the singer released his second studio album, A Good Time, in November 2022.

The second album was Davido's commercial breakthrough, quickly becoming highly successful in Nigeria and as well as in the UK. Subsequently, the singer released his third studio album, A Better Time, in November 2020.

Davido's fourth studio album, Timeless, was released in 2023. His most successful album to date, the album featured collaborations with Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, Focalistic, and The Cavemen. The album charted well in the US album chart, as well as Canada, Nigeria, and the Irish chart, among others.

In the singer's latest studio album, 5ive, he collaborated with 450, Tayc, Dadju, YG Marley, Odumodublvck, and Chike as well as Alhanislam, Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Omah Lay, Shenseea, and Musa Keys. 5ive has been charting well in the UK album chart as well as on the US world album chart. The album also entered the Swiss album chart.
