Hotboii is the stage name of Javarri Latre Walker. He is a rapper from Florida. The rapper was recently arrested for allegedly carrying a firearm on school premises, as well as for carrying a firearm despite being a convicted felon on probation, as reported by Primetimer in their article on July 11, 2025.

Now his attorney has addressed the rumours surrounding the arrest, stating in an Instagram story post, here quoted via No Jumper's X post on the matter on July 13, 2025:

"As legal consultant to Javarri Walker p/k/a Hotboii @hotboi438, I'd like to quell some rumours and ill-informed comments being made about his recent arrest. Last week, the mother of Hotboii's son, Asia Monroe, posted Hotboii's private home address on social media with the intent to bring him harm."

The attorney continued:

"On Wednesday, two hooded men were caught attempting to break into the home. Hotboii reacted as any reasonable person or parent would react, considering his son also resides at the same address, yet was taken into custody. We will aggressively and vigorously defend the charges brought against him and work hard to clear him."

Hotboii has had legal troubles from an early life

The singer had legal troubles from an early life, being in juvenile detention in his late teens from the age of 16 to age 18 for breaking and entering. This was followed by a brief period of music-related work before he was charged under a RICO case and accused of being part of the 438 gang.

The two charges he was under were Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization - Racketeering charge and Conspiracy to Commit Racketeering charge, as per the XXL article on the matter that was published on July 13, 2021. The singer was released on a $750,000 bond, which he is now accused of breaking in the new incident mentioned above.

Hotboii's career: A brief overview

The singer started writing music during his juvenile detention period. He released his debut mixtape, Kut Da Fan On, in May 2020, followed soon after by his debut album, Double O Baby, in December 2020. Both the mixtape and the debut album did well upon release, charting at the top place on the now-defunct Billboard Heatseekers chart, which was discontinued on January 11, 2025.

The singer talked about his early career and how being in juvenile detention shaped him in an exclusive interview on September 15, 2020, with Complex magazine:

"It took me so long, because when I was in juvenile, I had a couple of cases and charges and shit. They had sent me to a program and I ended up being in there for like two years. Then when I got back out, I was 18."

The singer continued:

"So I went in there when I was 16, and got out when I was 18. I’m 20 right now, so I’ve been out for two years. I was just waiting until I got with the right team and got the right stuff behind me."

The singer subsequently released two more studio albums, starting with Life of a Hotboii on December 10, 2021. The album also went on to become a chart topper on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

The singer had more significant commercial success with his latest album, Blinded by Death, which was released on July 29, 2022. Blinded by Death went on to become the rapper's first entry into the Billboard 200 chart space, topping out at the 89th position.
