Greta Van Fleet guitarist Jake Kiszka has officially launched a new musical chapter. He has joined forces with Chris Turpin of British-American duo Ida Mae to form MIRADOR. It is a new four-piece rock band. Their music spans folk tradition, Delta blues, and more.
MIRADOR has now dropped their debut single "Feels Like Gold." They have also confirmed a self-titled debut album, which is officially slated to be released on September 19, 2025, via Republic Records. Additionally, they are all set for a 32-date international tour from North America to Europe.
Announcing "Feels Like Gold," Jake Kiszka stated in an official Instagram post,
"After much time and remarkable anticipation, 'Feels Like Gold' is finally here. This first single track from Mirador embodies a story of fate and faith - a journey of strangers to a new world in search of something greater than themselves."
The post continued:
"With its soaring riffs, bombastic drumming, and electrifying bass, 'Feels Like Gold' is a sonic explosion that precisely captures the essence of this epic tale. There is much more to come, I hope it moves you. All my love, x"
Jake Kiszka is mainly known as a founding member of the Grammy-winning Greta Van Fleet. Kiszka and Turpin first met in 2018 when Ida Mae opened for Greta Van Fleet during a three-night run in Detroit. Kiszka said in a press statement:
"We were like long-lost brothers. After we wrote those songs, I realized we had a chemistry I would never had with anybody but my own brothers. Our world lives in those traditions. There is an unspoken mysticism. MIRADOR definitely inhabits a lot of that. We are hyper-aware of our lineage, so we can build our own future as a band."
Turpin added:
"It's two guitar players from notable groups coming together to create a new mythology. MIRADOR comes from a deep passion for rock 'n' roll, early folk, and country blues as well as folklore."
