BIGBANG is set to make their most-awaited debut at Coachella 2026 in Indio, California, at the Empire Polo Club. The group was supposed to debut at Coachella in 2020. However, Coachella 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, there was a resurgence of cases of the novel virus in the area where Coachella was supposed to be held.
In a statement to Al Jazeera on January 30, 2021, public health officer for California’s Riverside County, Cameron Kaiser, elaborated on the reason, stating that festivals such as Coachella:
"Hundreds of thousands of attendees from many countries, including several disproportionately afflicted by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. If COVID-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk."
Now BIGBANG is set to be featured on the third day of the festival's first and second weekend, and fans are excited about it, rejoicing at the prospect of the band's debut:
"KINGS OF KPOP ARE TRULY BACK."
"Legends making a grand comeback—can’t wait to see BIGBANG rock Coachella!" a fan stated.
"OMG, that’s amazing news! Can’t believe BIGBANG is hitting the Coachella stage next year! It’s gonna be epic seeing them live again! Who else is excited? Let’s get ready to vibe!" another fan said.
"K-pop legends are coming to Coachella? Massive. This is gonna be an epic festival moment." a fan commented.
"Before there was BTS, before BLACKPINK at Coachella, there was BIGBANG." one commenter opined.
