UK-based groove metalcore band Malevolence has officially exited the 2025 edition of the Summer Slaughter Tour. The group was originally set to appear alongside Hatebreed, Fugitive, Gridiron, and others on this summer trek across the United States. Their official exit follows a period of speculation after the band's name reportedly vanished from select show posters and event flyers.

Now, Malevolence has come forward with a statement. The band cited "unforeseen personal circumstances" as the reason behind the decision to withdraw from the Summer Slaughter Tour lineup. However, no further details have been disclosed.

Malevolence's complete official statement regarding the 2025 Summer Slaughter Tour exit

On July 2, 2025, Malevolence officially confirmed their departure from the tour with a message shared across their official social media handles. The post read:

"To Our Fans in the US and Everyone Looking Forward to the Summer Slaughter Tour: We are sad to announce we will no longer be joining Hatebreed and the rest of the lineup this July. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, we've had to make the difficult decision to step back from this run. As a band this kind of decision has never been taken lightly, and we want to sincerely apologise to anyone who was looking forward to catching us on this tour."

Malevolence also added:

"We have nothing but love for everyone involved in the Summer Slaughter tour and encourage you all to go out and support every band on that stage. We hope to be back in the US with you all soon. With love and respect, MALEVOLENCE"

The message confirms that Malevolence had no ill will toward the tour organizers or their fellow performers. Moreover, it suggests that the decision was prompted by internal or logistical matters.

Malevolence hail from Sheffield, UK, and have become a reputed name in the modern metalcore and groove metal scene. The band broke through with albums like Reign of Suffering (2013) and Malicious Intent (2022).

The Summer Slaughter Tour has been one of North America's significant extreme metal concerts since 2007. It has hosted the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Between the Buried and Me, and The Black Dahlia Murder in the past. For the 2025 edition, Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta took over curation duties.
