Why are Ray J and Sexyy Red in a heated online exchange? Complete feud explained as singer issues apology

The singer and songwriter Ray J and the Pound Town rapper, Sexyy Red, were recently caught in a heated exchange. It all started when Ray began ranting during a Twitch stream on Sunday and made a wild claim about Sexxy Red.

In the claim, he mentioned that 'he slept with Sexyy.' He later apologized for his comment, publicly stating that it was misleading. Justin Bieber also called out the singer for his comment and defended Sexyy.

Later, Sexyy reacted to Ray's wild claims and responded to them through her X (formerly Twitter) handle. This drama gained massive traction on social media, where some criticized Ray for his comments, while others reacted by making reels and memes of the drama.

Complete feud between Ray J and Sexyy Red explained

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Ray J was on a live stream on Twitch, during which he brushed off the speculations between him and Sexyy Red just being friends. As per Baller Alert, this is what he said:

''I slept with Sexyy Red… that’s on the dead homies. Talking about I party with Sexyy Red, n***a. Ask her. That’s on the dead homies, n***a. I slept with her, n***a.''

Later on the same day, he publicly apologized for his statements, saying that:

'"I want to apologize to Sexyy Red. Sexyy Red is one of my favorite artists. Sexyy Red and I was on a plane. We were both flying somewhere. We randomly saw each other. She was sitting by me. She had her space. I had my space. She had her own blanket, her own pillow. I had my own blanket and my own pillow. And we had a long flight. We both were tired, so we went to sleep. Just like we would sleep with anybody else that was sitting next to us on a plane.''

He then also said that the wild claim he made was something he said out of control, and that it was insensitive and was trolling. He added:

''I want to say, Sexyy Red, my bad. I hope this gets out there and this gets clipped and this gets shown. Because even though if I said it later on the stream, that didn't get clipped. All they heard was what I said. It was childish, it was uncalled for, and it wasn't cool. My bad, Sexyy.''

Later, Sexyy reacted to the singer's wild comments and posted this on her X. She said:

''Even to b sayin we "slept" on the plane together I said hi and kept it pushin is you coo cuh?!.''

As per itsonlyentertainment, Sexyy called out Ray on her Instagram stories as well by sharing screenshots of her personal chat with the singer. In the chat, she says:

''“So dis what you doin playing wit people name on da internet?”

He replied by saying:

''I said right after we slept on the plane together – you know I playin I’m always trolling and you know I love you – I’ll make it clear right now on my main page – sorry if you mad at me – I’ll make it right now.''

Amidst this feud, Justin Bieber also called out Ray and defended Sexyy by clarifying that the claims made by the singer were false and unwelcome.
