Ohio death metal band Sanguisugabogg is calling on fans, booking agents, and other musicians to boycott Minglewood Hall and its adjoining 1884 Lounge in Memphis, Tennessee.

This move comes after an alleged heated confrontation on July 29, 2025, where the band alleges that the venue's general manager threatened to shoot them following a dispute over their set time and payment. The incident took place during the band's ongoing North American tour. The drama gained traction online after Sanguisugabogg posted a detailed account to social media.

According to the Sanguisugabogg, the manager accused them of breaching their contract and also physically shoved their tour manager and threatened violence when the band pushed for clarification.

Sanguisugabogg took to their official Instagram account to initially share a detailed account of the confrontation, captioning:

"**WARNING** BANDS, BOOKING AGENTS, MANAGERS DO NOT WORK FOR THIS CLOWN 🤡 This is Cory Likens and hopefully by tomorrow morning he does not have a job! At our show in Memphis, TN tonight right after we got done playing we were told to come to his office to settle so our tm came up and was told that we breached our contract because our set ended earlier than what we were slotted (not a thing) and shoved him out of his office."

Sanguisugabogg's post continued:

"All the bands returned to just settle out and one of us just wanted to have a conversation as to what was going on and he popped his head out of the office to tell us to leave or he was going to SHOOT us. He ended up leaving as he was told to by our awesome team and luckily after a few hours someone way more professional and calmly mannered wrote a check. We have heard from people that he is unwell and stuff to not this extreme but bands not getting paid has happened before.
"Glad you made sure to leave without giving us your name I bet you felt really proud and safe but quick detective work like finding your f*ckboy haircut on google did the trick. We also made sure to include pics of the green room cuz we saw the staff take a picture of the room when the table got knocked over… obviously it's not broken. Awesome venue, awesome show, screw this dude!"

Recently, Sanguisugabogg edited the same post to add an update regarding the issue:

"UPDATE: They're telling us to take the post down and saying he didn't say he was gonna shoot us that he told us "I have a gun…" that's not true he told 5 of us he was going to shoot us and they're saying we breached contract which is totally made up thing. People do not support Minglewood Hall / 1884 Lounge do not buy tickets to their shows and make everyone aware of this! Straight up f**k this place!"

The incident reportedly escalated when the venue's general manager, identified by the band as Cory Likens, allegedly shoved their tour manager during a payment discussion. When the rest of the band allegedly returned to try and resolve the issue, they claim Likens told them to leave or he would "shoot" them. The band posted pictures of the venue's green room and criticized the staff's behavior.
