Tomorrowland Brasil is cancelled for the year 2026, after a fire in July this year destroyed the Orbyz Mainstage at Tomorrowland Belgium.

The stage was originally planned to be dismantled and sent by ship for the Brazilian edition next year. The organizers stated that reconstructing the stage will be a lengthy process, which is why the event has been postponed to 2027 instead of next year.

Mario Sérgio Albuquerque, director of Tomorrowland Brasil, said:

“It is not possible to carry out the 2026 edition here with the time we have after the Belgian one.”

According to a report in EDM addicts, the organizers stressed that the 2026 event is not cancelled but “the next edition is scheduled for early 2027.” They said that Tomorrowland Brasil “is here to stay. We believe deeply in Brazil, in Itu, and in the People of Tomorrow who gather here with so much passion and love.”

More details on Tomorrowland Brasil 2026 postponement

The first edition of Tomorrowland Brasil was reportedly held in May 2015. It took place in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil. According to the event’s official website, over 180,000 people witnessed the festival’s epic performances and fireworks.

In addition to the stage fire in Belgium this summer, the organizers of Tomorrowland Brasil gave another reason for the postponement of the 2026 event.

They said that 2026 will be “an exceptionally busy year,” with multiple international projects and expansions taking place at that time, which makes the global production calendar too complex for another large-scale event.

The organizers added that they plan to return in 2027 “stronger than ever” with high quality and creativity, the organization Tomorrowland is known for.

The 2025 edition of the event was held from October 10 to October 12, 2025, at Parque Maeda in Itu, São Paulo. Some of the sets which featured this year included Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Amelie Lens, Anyma, John Summit, Armin Van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, among others, a report in DJ magazine stated.

Earlier, it was reported that Tomorrowland 2025 was at risk of cancellation due to the fire that destroyed the Orbyz MainStage in Belgium, just two days before the festival. However, thanks to the band Metallica, who loaned elements from their WorldWired stage to rebuild the stage.

Martin Garrix took to his Instagram to offer his gratitude to the band. In a post shared in July 2025, he wrote:

“I can not believe I’m actually typing this… but my set at Tomorrowland is still happening!..massive love and a big shoutout to the incredible @tomorrowland team for pulling off miracles — and to @Metallica for coming through with the new stage parts…"

He added:

"beyond excited to close the mainstage tonight. & this will hands down be the most unique Tomorrowland ever — and yes, I’ll be streaming it too.”

EDM Addicts reported that the 2025 event hosted around 180,000 attendees. It represented an investment of about $125 million.
