On Wednesday evening, July 16, 2025, the main stage at Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, caught fire during the final rehearsals, as per The Mirror. The fire quickly consumed the elaborate structure, and although there were many crew members on-site at the time, there were no injuries reported.

Tomorrowland organisers then confirmed that the festival will continue, albeit without the original main stage, in a statement on Instagram. Hence, Tomorrowland is set to open its DreamVille campsite on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

The first weekend of the festival is scheduled from July 18 to July 20, and the second weekend from July 24 to July 27.

After the fire broke out, the festival's organizers shared a statement on social media, in which they said:

''Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged. We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.''

The statement continued:

''We can announce that, DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned. We are focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend.''

Debby Wilmsen, the festival's spokesperson, also made a statement in a press conference regarding the stage fire. She said:

''Years of love and passion have gone into building that stage. Those teams are devastated. Tomorrow, 38,000 festival-goers will arrive. We’re really looking forward to that, and we’re going to give them a warm welcome and make it a wonderful festival.''

Wilmsen continued:

''The intention is for the festival to go ahead. But we can’t do magic, so it will be without the main stage. Our production team will now do everything they can to make it truly special.''

The organizers are working on alternative setups or replacement stages to ensure performances can still proceed. Artists including Martin Garrix, Axwell, Alok, Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren, and Charlotte de Witte, DJs, B2B acts, and electronic artists will be gracing the stages at the event.

The cause of the fire remains unclear; however, preliminary indications suggest a pyrotechnics test malfunction, but it is not yet confirmed. Tomorrowland is an annual electronic dance music festival held in Boom, Antwerp, Belgium. It was founded by brothers Manu and Michiel Beers in 2004.

Attendees usually also camp at DreamVille, the festival’s official campsite, which is located adjacent to the festival grounds in Boom, Belgium. It also features amenities like supermarkets, showers, toilets, food stalls, beauty salons, chill‑out zones, and BBQ spaces. According to The Sun, the festival expects nearly 400,000 attendees from across the globe over the two weekends.
