‘Will it glow in the dark?’: Internet reacts as FKA Twigs teases new project Afterglow live at Lowlands Festival

FKA Twigs has got fans excited for a new musical project. Towards the end of her performance at the Lowlands Festival on August 16, 2025, the singer/rapper announced to the attendees that a new album was in the works titled Afterglow.

The artist also hinted that Afterglow would be released in September 2025, although she wasn’t specific about when fans could expect the album:

“New music. I am so in abundance and ready to give birth. Her name is Afterglow. And my labour shall commence next week,” the artist concluded as cheers rose up from the audience.

FKA Twigs announcement of a fourth studio album comes after the release of Eusexua in January 2025. Eusexua marked the release of the singer’s first album in five years as she had released Magdalene in 2019.

In an interview published by NPR on January 24, 2025, the multihyphenate artist explained the concept of the Eusexua album:

"It's pure presence. It's a moment of nothingness. Or it's the moment before a really incredible idea. I've experienced 'eusexua' when kissing someone I don't know really well, but I really like. So it's this ego-less presence which is just filled with this kind of tingling clarity."
