Wiz Khalifa's cannabis usage is not something new, and he has mentioned it multiple times in his songs and lyrics. The rapper appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last Friday (June 13) and talked about his cannabis habits. Because of his long-time use of the controlled substance, he has developed a high tolerance level. According to the rapper, he smokes up to 30 joints in just one day.
When Kimmel asked the Black and Yellow rapper about his smoking habits, he answered:
"Yeah, yeah, yup... I have things to do. I work out — I got kids, so I do a lot of different things."
He continued to elaborate that getting through the day and completing his tasks while being high feels like a "mental exercise" for him. In his words:
"Somebody put it a really good way the other day... You smoke and then you just challenge yourself to do normal things throughout the day … I enjoy it."
Wiz Khalifa shares the beginnings of his cannabis-usage habit
Wiz Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, opened up during Jimmy Kimmel Live! show to talk about his cannabis usage and where the habit started. Kimmel egged Thomaz to talk about his weed-smoking habits by asking about his pre-show rituals, hoping the rapper would spill.
Later on, Jimmy asked Wiz if it was true that he smoked 30 joints a day, to which the rapper confirmed. The host did some math to calculate how many joints Thomaz smokes during his waking hours, which was about one and three-quarters per hour. Wiz Khalifa joked that the number was "not bad at all," and the audience laughed.
Jimmy Kimmel responded:
"In a way, you could say that it's the opposite of a mental exercise."
According to the Pennsylvanian rapper, he began to smoke weed when he was just a teenager, while being around musicians in the studio.
In his words:
"It was just for music purposes, like, being in the studio and hanging around other musicians, it was just the thing to do... We just smoking and vibing out... It kind of became something that, you know, later on in life helped me to get through a lot of things," he admitted.
The two also talked about some of the biggest celebrities who are open about smoking weed. Snoop Dogg was mentioned, B-Real's name was brought up, as well as Willie Nelson.
Before Wiz Khalifa sat down, he performed 5 Stars on Jimmy Kimmel's stage, one of the songs from his upcoming album, Kush + Orange Juice 2, which was released on April 17, 2025.
