Tina and Cord headed back to Llanview

Andrea Evans and John Loprieno will reprise their roles as Tina and Cord in September. The pair last appeared together on-screen in 2008. Evans originated the role of Tina in 1978. Loprieno first appeared as Cord in 1986.

One of One Life to Live's former supercouples will be headed back to Llanview in the weeks ahead. A show spokesperson confirms that John Loprieno (Cordero "Cord" Roberts) and Andrea Evans (Tina Lord) will be back on-screen beginning in September.

"Working with John is and always has been a pleasure," Evans said in a statement. "Our characters of Tina and Cord have always had an easy chemistry, and I am delighted that we will be able to bring them both to Llanview once again!"

"Working with Andrea was one of the high points of my acting career," Loprieno added. "Her work ethic, wonderful talent and incredible sense of humor were always appreciated on the set and in rehearsal. When I think of all the times I had fun on the set or interacting with people backstage, Andrea figures prominently in those memories."

Evans and Loprieno last appeared on One Life to Live in 2008 as part of the show's 40th anniversary celebration.

Loprieno joined the cast of OLTL in 1986. He remained with the show for five years during his first run, but made a four-year return engagement starting in 1993. The actor also made short-term returns in 2004 and 2007, in addition to the previously mentioned return in 2008.

Evans originated the role of Tina in July 1978, though her first run on the show lasted just three years. Evans returned in 1985 and stuck around Llanview for the next five years. During Evans' time away from One Life to Live, the show recast the role -- four different times.

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful shouldn't worry that Evans' OLTL return puts an end to her work as Tawny Moore.

"We're thrilled for Andrea and her fans that she gets to return to OLTL before they go off the air to reprise a role that started her illustrious career in daytime television," a B&B spokesperson told Soaps In Depth, noting that Evans will continue to appear on the show on a recurring basis.

Evans and Loprieno's return is expected to be just one of many by fan favorite veterans as One Life to Live inches towards its last episodes on broadcast television in January 2012.
