Soap opera alum Kristen Alderson is a shining star (or Starr, if you count her longtime One Life to Live role), and she's set to sparkle as the newest castmember of New York City's The Marvelous Wonderettes.
The actress, who last appeared in daytime as General Hospital's Kiki Jerome, took to Twitter to announce the exciting news.
"New York City stage, here I come!!!" she enthuses. "I am SO excited to be joining the extremely talented cast of The Marvelous Wonderettes! I'm on stage and singing the WHOLE show. Wish me luck and come see me!! I want to meet you!"

The news is certainly exciting, but not exactly what hopeful soap fans may have had in mind after the actress dropped a few social media teases earlier this month. She piqued fans' interest on April 4 when she tweeted, "Guys! Exciting things, exciting things are happening..." Her fans, of course, jumped to the possibility of the Emmy winner returning to Port Charles or joining the cast of another daytime drama, but she quickly clarified: "Ha ha! Sorry for the tease. I'll at least tell ya it's not about GH or another soap."
The Marvelous Wonderettes takes audience members back to the 1950s and follows "four girls with voices as big as their bouffants and personalities as kooky as their crinoline skirts!"
The musical showcases classic hits like It's My Party, Mr. Sandman, Lollipop, Son of a Preacher Man, You Don't Own Me, and more.
Alderson, who will be playing Cindy Lou in the musical, also expressed her delight about joining the show in an official statement: "I am beyond excited to be joining the extremely talented cast of The Marvelous Wonderettes. I've always had a huge passion for theatre and I'm so grateful that I get to be on stage again!"
The Marvelous Wonderettes is celebrating its two-year anniversary on NYC's Theatre Row this month. Alderson will be joining current cast members Meg Lanzarone, Michelle Dowdy, Brie Cassil, and Amy Hilner Larsen during her debut as Cindy Lou on Wednesday, April 18.
Funny enough, the musical has had an OLTL connection once before: when it returned for a revival in 2016, it starred Alderson's former Llanview castmate Kathy Brier (ex-Marcie Walsh) as Suzy.
