One Life to Live fans' hearts are melting after Nathan Fillion, who played Joey Buchanan on the former ABC soap opera, showed up at a recent fan event celebrating the show and its sister soap, All My Children.
Attendees were stunned to see the popular actor, who dropped by unexpectedly to pay homage to the genre and fans that paved the way to his primetime success on shows like Castle and the upcoming series The Rookie -- both of which helped make him a household name.
Though fans were shocked to see Fillion, his appearance wasn't a total surprise. After all, he's one of the few major stars who hasn't been afraid to speak positively about his soap-related start in the industry (and when we say a few, we mean a very, very few). In fact, the actor has spoken fondly about his time on OLTL on several occasions in recent years, which always goes over well with fans.
During his time at the AMC/OLTL event, which was part of this year's General Hospital fan club weekend, Fillion reunited with several of his former costars including: Erin Torpey (ex-Jessica Buchanan), Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair Cramer; Eve Donovan, Days of our Lives), James DePaiva (ex-Max Holden, Dr. David Bensch,GH), and Melissa Archer (ex-Natalie Buchanan).
He also posed for a photo with two other men who've played Joey over the years: Tom Degnan and Chris McKenna (see photo below).
Fillion took on the role of OLTL's Joey in 1994 and played the character until 1997. He made a brief return in 2007.
After leaving Llanview, the Alberta, Canada, native went on to land roles in series like Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Desperate Housewives, Modern Family, Con Man, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Santa Clarita Diet.
