LoPorto out as OLTL ages Jack

In 2011, everything old will be new again in Llanview. That's because One Life to Live has opted to recast -- and age -- two of its younger characters.

One Life to Life has opted to age the Manning children. The decision means that Carmen LoPorto, the young actor who has played Jack for more than three years, is out.

"I got a call this week that they SORAS'ed [Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome] Jack and I am no longer a member of the Manning Family," LoPorto wrote on his Facebook page. "It's been fun and an experience that I will never forget. Thank You All Again. Here's to bigger and better things to come in 2011."

LoPorto, who joined the One Life to Live cast in September 2007, will be replaced by daytime newcomer Andrew Trischitta. Trischitta taped his first scenes earlier this week. The young actor has previously done work in television commercials. With the recasting of the role, Jack is now expected to be about 15 years old.

Trischitta's first airdate is February 22.

Meanwhile, Patrick Gibbons, Jr. has taken over the role of Sam. Gibbons assumes the role from twins Jacob and Luke Clodfelter.
