Catherine Hickland has folks spellbound -- for a great cause

Want to know something that will blow your mind? Catherine Hickland is once again using her hypnotic talents in quite unusual circumstances for an amazing cause.

Daytime audiences know what it's like to be hypnotized by the talents of Catherine Hickland, being that she charmed fans in roles like One Life to Live's Lindsay Rappaport, The City's Tess Wilder, Capitol's Julie Clegg, and The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke Logan. But the actress is using her skills in a very different way these days. After studying the art of hypnosis during her final years on OLTL, she became a certified hypnotherapist and has found success as the star of her very own off-Broadway show, The Hypnotist. And now, Hickland is using her mind talents and the popular show to change the lives of teenagers.

The Florida native -- who's become the most successful and well-known female hypnotist in the country -- will be returning to the Annville-Cleona High School Auditorium in Annville, Pennsylvania, on Friday, February 20, to perform her comedic show. The high school version of her hit performance is designed to show teens how important it is to focus, handle emotions, and create strong goals so they can take steps in getting on the fast track for achieving. The show also empowers young viewers to carefully choose their words, to show random acts of kindness, and to use their powers for good.

In addition to inspiring teenagers, Hickland's Annville show will benefit the Four Diamonds Club, which aims to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital and their families through care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.

Having first been charmed by hypnosis as a young girl while watching Pat Collins' The Hip Hypnotist on television, Hickland began studying the mental art during her final two years on OLTL. After becoming a certified hypnotherapist, she took her talent to the stage with the 2008 debut of her show at the prestigious New World Stages in New York City. Since then, she's been performing over 200 comedy hypnosis shows per year with the goal of guiding people to their inner freedom.

"Some of my most fascinating cases evolve out of people who have been in the audience of my shows; you wouldn't believe some of the things I hear and see," she says.

Passionate about the art of hypnosis and believing herself to be a teacher of the mind/body/spirit connection, the actress volunteers her time to visit and speak with women in the Federal Prison System. She also opened a training facility in Las Vegas in 2013 that helps people who would like to learn self-hypnosis as well as trains hypnotists who want to learn the art of stage hypnosis.

Hickland will also be hosting a "Look 10 years Younger Seminar" at the Annville-Cleona High School. The special event helps attendees change the way they think about getting older. "Just two hours can change your life," Hickland says. "And when we look better, we feel better, and we do better."

For more information on the Annville show, check out the school's official website. And for more from Hickland herself, be sure to tune in to Kroll Call on Friday, February 13. Host Dan J Kroll will use his own comedic talents to get the actress to open up about her hypnotherapy show; her new book, Cat & Fern's Excellent God Adventure: Inspirations for 365 Days of Heaven on Earth; and other fun topics.
