OLTL's Erika Slezak returns to television in Fox's new medical drama The Resident

One Life to Live's Erika Slezak (ex-Victoria Lord) will be back on TV in the new year with a guest-starring role on the upcoming Fox series The Resident.

It's the time of year for miracles, and one just happened for fans of former One Life to Live star Erika Slezak (ex-Victoria Lord). For the first time since OLTL went off the air in 2013, the actress is returning to television in Fox's upcoming medical drama The Resident.

According to Slezak's fan club president, Walter Miller, the actress filmed a guest-starring appearance for the series in Atlanta in late November. Slezak herself reports that "the entire experience was a lot of fun."

An official airdate for her episode has yet to be announced, but Miller says she's slated for the ninth episode of the drama that premieres on Sunday, January 21.

The Resident, which stars The Good Wife's Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Hawkins and Revenge's Emily VanCamp as Nicolette Nevin, focuses on three doctors at different stages of their careers and a dedicated young nurse. Its official synopsis states it's "a provocative new medical drama that rips back the curtain to reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country."

Check out a trailer for The Resident below and let us know what you think about the premise of the show -- and about Slezak finally returning to television.

Slezak took on the role of OLTL's Victoria Lord in 1971 and played the role until OLTL went off the air in 2013. She won a whopping six Daytime Emmy Awards for her work as the Llanview matriarch and still holds the record for most wins by an actress.
