Girls5eva, a new comedy series about a'90s one-hit-wonder girl group, will star Hamilton and One Life to Live alum Renée Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson) alongside Sara Bareilles.

Move over, Spice Girls, TLC, and Destiny's Child. A new 1990s girl group is about to take over in the upcoming Peacock comedy series Girls5eva, which has snatched up Tony-winning Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson, One Life to Live) to lead its star-studded cast.

Executive produced by Tina Fey, Girls5eva follows a '90s one-hit-wonder girl group who looks to get the band back together after a rap sample brings them back into the spotlight.

Goldsberry is set to play Wickie, the big-voiced lead vocalist of the group who, according to the show's official description, is disappointed that her solo career has hit a ditch and "is determined to use this new opportunity to retake her rightful place as pop royalty."

Says Goldsberry about her new project, "This wickedly talented team is creating something brave and new. I'm grateful I get to be in the room with them. I honestly can't think of a better way to transition out of this year and into the new one than laughing with strong and beautiful women."

Girls5eva, which was ordered to series at Peacock back in January, will also star "Love Song" singer Sara Bareilles as Dawn, a former member of Girls5eva who is now a bit restless in life, managing her family's small Italian restaurant in Queens.

Other stars reportedly set to star in the series include Carson Daly as Wayne, John Goodman as Tony, April Stewart as Debbie, and Tony Hale as Fred.

Goldsberry got her start in shows like Ally and Ally McBeal before landing the role of OLTL's Evangeline, which she played from 1999 to 2007. The actress hit the big time when she originated the role of Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway musical Hamilton, for which she won a Tony Award in 2016. Some of her other credits include the TV series The Good Wife, Evil, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, The Following, Fast and Furious Spy Racers, Documentary Now!, and Altered Carbon.
