"All you can do is pray for both sides": Kai Cenat speaks out on DDG and Halle Bailey's legal situation

The online streamer Kai Cenat addressed the legal situation between the rapper and YouTuber DDG and Halle Bailey in a live stream on May 16, 2025. In the live stream, he said that he is in the middle of the situation, as both parties are still figuring things out, and he shares a friendship with them, DDG and Halle.

Kai then emphasized hearing both sides' stories and respecting them. Expressing what he feels about the situation, he said:

''All you can do is pray for both sides''

Kai Cenat speaks out on DDG and Halle's legal matters

DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr) and Halle Bailey have been making headlines on the internet as Halle has recently accused DDG of abuse. On May 13, 2025, Halle was given a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her ex, DDG, as per E! News.

As per the court documents, Halle alleged multiple cases of abuse. According to E! News, Halle wrote this in the papers seeking the order. She said:

"Throughout our relationship and continuing to date, Darryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me.”

She then explained the reputational damage DDG had caused to her. She said:

''Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans. He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.”

Detailing one of the abusive situations, she said that once, when their son Halo was 13 months old, she had asked DDG to set a schedule to see Halo. She then said that things got violent between them. Explaining the situation, she said:

''Things got physical between us. We fought each other, wresting and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain. I wanted to get out of the car with Halo but was now stuck.''

This was one of the abusive instances she alleged. As the news of the alleged abuse and custody came out, Kai Cenat spoke out regarding the situation in a live stream. He said:

"I know there's a lot of things going on but you gotta understand bro. This is how I view it personally bro, there is two sides of a story going on right now and I am in the middle to where I have to be able to just see things play out.''

Kai continued:

''There's 2 sides to every story and you gotta be able to respect both of them, all you can do is pray for both sides.''

As per People, Halle has the sole legal and physical custody of her son, Halo Saint.
