Some of Diddy’s employees have raised complaints about not getting paid while he remains in prison.

According to a report in TMZ, the staff have gone unpaid for weeks while he’s incarcerated, causing frustration among them. It also stated that one of them has quit over the delays. The report indicated that Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group is managing his fortune during his prison term, which has reportedly enforced strict measures on spending.

Historically, many staffers and associates have expressed frustration with Diddy’s behaviour. They have reportedly described him as erratic, abusive and intimidating in the workplace. However, Diddy's representative Juda Engelmayer strongly denied the claims. She told TMZ:

“People, personnel, and attorneys are all being paid, and no one is leaving.”

He added that Sean Combs controls his own finances and payroll is handled routinely through Combs Global’s HR. He further added that payments occur after standard review and confirmation of work.

Diddy's family reportedly working within a set budget amid his imprisonment

According to a report in TMZ, Diddy’s family has been reportedly working within a set budget while he is in prison.

Although the outlet has not confirmed the amount and frequency of the payments, it stated that if the family exceeds the set budget, then they are required to submit invoices to Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, the music mogul’s longtime business management firm. The sources told the outlet that the invoices are not always approved.

TMZ reported that even for personal expenses such as family dinners Tri Star require invoices. For instance, when Diddy wanted his family to gather for a dinner in New York City, the night before his sentencing, Tri Star asked the family members to submit an invoice. The company initially declined but eventually paid the bill.

On the other hand, many staff members of the Bad Boy Records founder have complained of not being paid by Diddy as his fortune is strictly managed by Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group.

Founded in 1992 by CEO Lou Taylor, Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group provides accounting, financial management, tax services, estate planning and strategic advisory services for high-profile celebrities in the sports, music and entertainment industries. It is based in Nashville and Los Angeles.

A report in The Hollywood Reporter stated that the business management firm’s famous clients include Diddy, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, Mary J. Blige among others.

Tri Star famously worked with Britney Spears in the past as her business managers from 2008 to 2020, during her highly controversial 13-year conservatorship.

Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey following his 2025 conviction. He remains in contact with his family while incarcerated through e-mails, phone calls and in-person visits.

On Christmas Day his eldest son, Justin Combs paid him a visit in prison for a heart-to-heart conversation. According to Combs’ representative, Juda Engelmayer, they discussed life updates, managing hardships, prayer and personal growth. The 90-minute conversation meant a “great deal” to the music composer.
